Welcome to the Center's fellowship application page.
The CBA Fellowship Program invites scholars and artists from the fields of ballet and its related arts and sciences to work at the Center on their own scholarly and/or artistic projects. The program provides fellows with a stipend, access to studio and office space, an apartment in some cases and time away from daily life to focus on their specified project – a book, a ballet, a film, a digital lecture series or other work of their imagining related in some way to ballet. Fellows can work alone or in collaboration.
The deadline for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 fellowship application was Friday, December 1st, 2017.
Decisions on applications will be announced on March 31, 2018.
Fellowship types include:
Resident Fellowship – for scholars and artists from ballet and its related arts and sciences
Virginia B. Toulmin Fellowship for Women Choreographers – for early to mid-career female choreographers interested in creating work that expands the way we think about ballet
Fellowship for the Study of Russia and Ballet – a collaboration between the Center for Ballet and the Arts and the NYU Jordan Center for Advanced Study of Russia, for scholars interested in advancing research in this area of study
If you are in New York City this fall please join the Center for Ballet and the Arts staff for an information session and a tour of the facilities.
